Dimple Magnetic Drain Plugs are designed to keep harmful contaminants away from internal moving components within your oiling system. Parts such as your rods and crankshaft are under continuous movement creating friction that can expel tiny metal particles. Your oil filter can only catch so much of these elements, so the rest gets recirculated back into the oiling system.

The magnet in the Dimple Drain Plug will pull these harmful particles to the bottom of the drain pan, and out of the oil stream. This results in longer engine life, and cleaner oil.

Please note that in late 2010, Subaru began using a new size engine drain plug on some models from a M20, to the smaller M16X1.5X12. If the head of your drain plug requires a 14mm tool, then your car needs the M16 plug.
